Our Christmas Time

("Our Tree" photo taken by Sophia Mae, age 3 3/4!! )

I have been sooo blessed this Christmas time....
Not only have I had the absolute delight in having my super husband home since Thursday (of course he's going back to work tomorrow) but I've been able to really enjoy the WHOLE Christmas period!! Why??
Well we've been with family & with dear friends & played with the kids when they've asked & cuddled Esther & enjoyed time together doing nothing & relaxed in the sun & eaten some of the most amazing delicious food EVER!! This just to name a few!! :0)
My Christmas day was sooo wonderful and relaxing. In saying that it was about to start at 5.30AM when the kids came in soo excitedly that it was the DAY!! You can imagine Allan's and my response...
"Go back to bed for an hour, then we'll start!!!"
My super mum prepared and cooked a traditional turkey lunch with all the trimmings including her most scrummy Stuffing balls!! Ummmm I LOVE those stuffing balls!! Then we just hung out as a family for the day and left after having some more yummy left overs for tea, putting the kids into bed and then watched the movie ELF that was on T.V.
Boxing day we spent with the Cudomres!! Oh what another super day, just hanging out again, relaxing and eating some of the most amazing left overs (again) including my personal fav Justin's Triffle and his Moose Ripple biscuit sandwiches (well I'm not sure what they're called but boy are they delish!!)
I received some very wonderful presents. Especially from my husband!! I got a gorgeous bag from one of my favourite shops Cocoon, a voucher for a 1hr facial and some yummy chocolates!!

How was your Christmas?? I hope that you were touched by the real meaning of Christmas and enjoyed time with your family and friends!!
Before I go you must pop over to Sophie Hill's blog "That Vintage", it's super awesome and a great read!! She is such a beautiful lady and one of my specail friends!! I love her jewellery too, so make sure you check them out at her Etsy shop!!
Till another day (hopefully sooner rather than later)

Fun with Kraft for Christmas

I'm just realizing as I type this heading that you might all be "Christmas carded" out!?!
As you can see I'm totally NOT! I love making cards and Christams cards is up there with some of my favourite ones to do!! Not to mention that I've been trying (and now succeeded) in making ALL of my Christmas cards before our baby arrives! YAY!! I'm sure now that I have more than enough!

So yesterday I played with some very simple ideas using Kraft! I think these are the sorts of cards that my sister would really LOVE, very plain and Arty like! (Hello SARAH!!!) Oh that's right I also pulled out my sewing machine too, which was heaps of fun and sewed on every card I made!!!
SO here they are...

This one is just with a star punch (ridding hood red card stock) and then a greeting from Many merry Messages

This one is made with the deer from Winter Post stamped in Versamark and then punched out with the square punch. The Noel once again is from the Many Merry messages set (stamped in Real red.) I've raised the deer square with dimensionals and roughed the edges with my bone folder.

This last one for today is using Circle Circus stamp set, all stamped in Real red and then sewed on the hanging strings! The word stamp is from Occasional greetings. I love the font of this stamp, it's soooooo elegant and pretty!

Now lastly here is a picture of my youngest daughter Sophia! Who insisted that I take a photo of her too whilst I was outside snapping my cards! (note the lunch left overs on her chin!! he he)
Oh so gorgeous!
Well that's me for today! I'm hoping to show you some wonderful new creations using some new sets from the mini tomorrow. Yes that's right the Summer mini start TOMORROW!!! That's if I don't have a baby in the mean time!! Official due date TODAY but what does that mean... REALLY!?! Anyway you've gotta have goals!!
Hugs to you all

Enjoying the Rest!

Isn't it funny how our bodies work...that is when we are pregnant!! The whole nesting thing is really quite entertaining when you're in the middle of it!! My list of things to do is slowly being ticked off which I'm so happy about! I have even designed my "baby" thank you's and thanks to Amanda's idea have them all ready to stick together when I'm in hospital! (what a great use of time!) My scrap booking calander for next year is finished (after yet another very late but super wonderful night, this time with Birthday girl Teresa and Jan!! Ohhh what laughs we shared Wednesday!) I've cleaned pretty much every room in the house, put up our Christmas tree and wait for it.... will be finishing our Christmas shopping TODAY!!!! WOW!!
The only thing left to do is ENJOY THE REST and wait for the arrival of our 4th addition! :0)

So today I'm here to show you another pretty Christmas card that I made with Heath and also a scrap book page that I made with Teresa!
Here's the card, using the Tree Trimming's set which you can only get until MON!!! How versatile it is!And here is my page (which I copied from the USA catty on page 45)I still haven't worked out a way to take good pictures of my pages but hopefully you get the idea! Christmas Inspirations continue...

Can you believe it's been 3 days since my last post, after doing one every day it's felt a little strange not popping on my computer with my newest creation!!
So I'd like to show you one of the cards that I made with my gorgeous friend Heather the other night! I really wanted to knock over all my Christmas cards for this year before I'm in "baby land" and all in all I did quite well. In the end I made 18 cards!! YAY!! Of course I didn't get to bed until 1.20AM but man it was totally worth it!!! Any time hanging out with Heath like that is super awesome, stamping, laughing, stamping, it's all the right ingredients for a fabulous eve!!!
I did take all my inspiration from Kristina Werner's wonderful blog and her gorgeous card Day 14 Holiday card Series HERE!

I love the colours and the layout and well I had to give it a whirl!!
I've never embossed on velum before so that was fun, and the flower is the 5 petal flower punch with the points torn off and then all scrunched up!! I also sponged over the Baroque background in Sahara sand, which was originally stamped on white. Then to finish it all off the Faux stitching around the edge, how beautiful is this card!!?? All thanks to Kristina's clever little head!!
Well best be off, should really start to think about what my family is eating for tea!

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 12}

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Soon the bells will start

Bing Crosby is one of my all time Favourite albums to listen to at Christmas time, his voice is just divine and it reminds me soooo much of my childhood and how my mum would ALWAYS have him blasting (on lp) throughout the month of Dec! As soon as the 1st would come his White Christmas album would begin, I love that about Christmas time. My absolutely favourite song on the album is Jingle Bells, ohhhh it's sooo jazy and fun and it has a quite bit and then gets really loud and it's the best Jingle Bells EVER!!!!

Of course Christmas is about something much more wonderful and that is the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ! What an amazing gift we were ALL given that Christmas day, which still today, after being a Christian (nearly all my life) makes me cry at just how much God loves us!!

So with that in mind, my last 12 days of Christmas inspiration came.
Here is a close up of each of the letters

I again want to thank you soooo much for taking the time to come and visit me over the last 12 days of my Christmas projects. It has been so wonderful for me to have something else to keep me busy after finishing workshops and events. Of course now I really need to concentrate on getting the nursery ready and getting my house clean!!! The nesting is kicking in, in a BIG WAY!!
Have the most wonderful weekend,
Smiles and hugs Sharnee :0)
P.S I've just realized that I didn't give you any instructions on how to create!! If you'd like to know dimensions then please let me know!! Thanks :0)

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 11}

WOW, it's day 11!!! I honestly thought I still had 3 days left when I was thinking about what else I wanted to show you! But clearly I was wrong, tomorrow is the last day! I have had such a great (and pressured at times) time putting these creations up for you! I hope you like my last 2 projects!!
Tonight I have made a card using one of my favourite sets, Bird on a branch! I had the thought that I could make like an antique looking bird ornament (like the ones you sometimes see in the shops) and place it on the stick looking Christmas tree, you know a whole vintage meets modern look!?? Yes strange I know but a girl's gotta try- yeah??
So here's what I came up with...
Maybe it's not really very vintage like but still I think it's pretty cool! I'm loving the Top note shape and I'm also having some fun with Silver embossing at the moment!! Good old tearing, scrunching, edging on the ink pad, (all of my fav techniques) & ribbon, add some Haiku DSP in the background it's all come together rather well!
I'll be back tomorrow for my last Christmas post, it's a great project so be ready!
Goodnight hugs and kisses

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 10}

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of a gorgeous tag set in a box that I'd made. I asked then if anyone wanted step-by-step instructions on how to make it for yourself, because as far as I know there are none out there yet...
The idea is from Stampin. Up! and I first saw it at a training night that I attended in Hobart. Due to the fact that I'm a picture girl needing step by step instructions myself to make anything (hence why I LOVE split coasters!!) I'm pretty impressed that I worked it out all by my little self!!! (and that's with a pregnant brain!! he he!)

So here is my Tag Box Set.

Cut a piece of cardstock 6" x 6" square.
Score all sides at 1".

Cut up sides of scoring to create flaps to make your box sides.

With another piece of cardstock (can use just A4 size here) cut 2 pieces 6" long x 4" wide.
Then score each one at 2", 3" & 4" (across the length of the cardstock)
1} Turn- at the 2" mark (half) on the first piece cut down to the top scoring line, then move blade and cut up to the bottom scoring line.
2} Second piece cut through the middle score lines at 2" also. See picture.
Then fold along scoring lines to make a triangle pop up from the middle.
(at this point you will want to trim just a little of both the sides of your insert pieces so they fit nicely into the box)

Now you need to slide #1 down into the cut of #2, note you will need to wiggle it in a little but when you've done it, it will all make sense!!

Stick some strip into the bottom of your box and adhere your divider piece inside.

Your box is now complete and ready for the tags!! (how did you go, were my instructions clear?)

Here are the tags that I made again using the Winter Post set! I've also used the wonderful square punch and the Scallop Square punch (which you can earn for FREE at the moment with our Gift giving guide!!) I put them on the Ski slope DSP with dimensional's and then punched a hole using the Crop-a-dile in each one.
Then all you do is put some co-ordinating ribbon in the last section for whom ever you're giving it to, to make their own tags! I used Real red grosgrain ribbon, twine and old olive organza (sorry this one's retired!) Wrap it up with some clear cellophane, add a big bright ribbon and your very snazzy present is complete!!!
I'd love to hear if any of you give it a go, I know that you will be happy with the end product and the person who receives it will be soooo impressed, it'll be awesome!!!

Until tomorrow, have a super Thursday eve, I know I'm in for a treat as I do some scrap-booking with my dear friends Teresa and Jan!!
Smiles and Hugs

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 9}

Good morning!
Today I have for you a Christmas card with a difference! Well for me anyway! I wanted to make a card for my hostess a while back using her favourite colours, these being pink and aqua!! Ok I was up for the challenge!! I knew that I wanted to show water colouring so I chose the cute little tree from the Fun & Fast notes stamp set. Colouring in is one of my favourite things to do, I love it when the kids get their books out and ask "mummy would you like to colour with me?" "ABSOLUTELY!!"I added the polka dot background in versamark and the little swing greeting is from the Basic phrases set (such a versatile set this is!!) All in all it's a groovy card and one that can be done with ANY of your favourite colour combo's. Just water colour the tree in your co-ordinating fav's!!
Here is a close up of the bling I added, a tree has to have sparkly baubles!!

Well I only have 3 more projects to show you, how fast this time has gone! What's been your favourite so far??
Be seeing you again tomorrow! Thanks for popping by.

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 8}

I must say that this was actually a card I made last year but ohhh how I love it!!! Do you ever have that project or card that you make and when it's done you look at it and think to yourself..
"WOW did I actually make that??" You're sooo taken back by how awesome it turned out that it surprises you that it was YOU that created it!!! What a great feeling to have!
This card did that for me. I love it's artiness, yet simplicity with just the hints of red on those wonderful natural colours!
The great thing too is that it's HEAPS easy to make!!! Just a little stamping and then punching some stars! (remember how much I love stars!!)

I think that the simplest of cards can be the most amazing, especially with the right layout!!
So tomorrow I'll show you another card with a difference- it uses some non-traditional colours, which for me is not the norm!!
Till then happy arvo and have a fun and relaxing eve!

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 7}

Hello lovelies!! How are you all?? Great I hope and enjoying your Monday! I've actually had a really good day considering it is a Monday! I usually find them a little difficult, you know your husband is back at work, the kids are tired from the activities of the weekend and well it's another week beginning!!! BUT TODAY WAS GOOD! :0)In saying that I can't believe that I'm actually here after my last event for the year, feeling very sad but also excited as I know that my next "project" is something very exciting!! The arrival of our baby!! Everyone keeps asking me
"How long do you have?" well officially 14 more days, but hey, I've always been late so by the 10th of Dec I think it will all have happened!! YAY!! :0)
So here I am posting my 7th day at 10.56pm instead of crawling into my bed and saying Goodnight for the day!!!I don't want to miss a day and leave you late nighters without something to see, it just wouldn't seem right!! (the things we do! he he!) :0) I found these adorable little bags on Splitcoasters website (click HERE) and decided to give them a whirl as my thank you gift to my ladies tonight! They are called a Double pocket bag and they use only 1 sheet of DSP. Then you can decorate however you please!

Ohhhh I'm sooo happy with how pretty they came up, especially the paper flowers (I've seen these EVERYWHERE!!!) They are soooo easy! All you do is tear round pieces of cardstock and then do it again but a smaller circle until you have about 3-4. Then you dab them over your ink pad (I chose the same colour as card) and then roughed them up a little, scrunching them. Put them all together with dimentionals or pop-up glue dots and there you have it gorgeous hand made paper flowers!! The leaves are the same but you tear a dimond sort of shape!
Then inside I made some Florentines and packaged them up slipping them into the front pocket! They're the perfect gift for a teacher or a friend especially with the season fast approaching! Let me know if you give them a whirl, I'd love to see what you do!! :0)

Well my bed is really calling now! See you again tomorrow....

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 6}

Last night whilst I was doing my usual blog reading I came across Makeesha's Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #15 and this is the picture...

How sparkly!! I do really like these cushions and it got me thinking..." Ummmm maybe I could make a Christmas card with this as my base for day 6?" So I did!!
It was certainly one from outside the box, as you can see there's no sign of red and green (just the berries in the background for my photo!) but I think it really works for something different! I also need to say that I've NEVER edged black on card stock before, nor have I done a lot of embossing with silver but I really REALLY like it!! What do you think?

I've used some of my favourite accessories here too, the Star (love star's), the cool shape, (of which I can't think of it's proper name...) , ribbon (naturally) & those super fab corduroy buttons!!
Well I best be off, shower, breakfast those sort of things... have a blessed and wonderful Sunday!

{Sharnee's} 12 Days of Christmas {day 5}

It's day 5!! That means we're a third of the way through already! How time flies!!! Thanks to all you lovely and wonderful people who are popping over and leaving comments!! It's sooooo nice to know that I have visitors and that you take the time to say hi too!!! I love checking my emails to see what you guys are saying!! :0)

For today's project idea I'm showing you a super cool tag gift set!!!I've actually held it as a class last weekend and all my stamp club girls did it too and LOVED IT!! So it seemed just right to show you all too! :0) Once again the original idea was from somewhere else.... the very talented Kristina Werner (click HERE) she has some fabulous cards and ideas and this one I bought the template for! Actually at the moment she too is doing not 12 BUT 25 Holiday Ideas!!! WOW she's keen!! Check it out, her cards are great!!! Due to the fact that she used all American Stampin. Up! products I had to improvise and so I used the gorgeous Winter post stamp set (a real FAV of my this year) and designed the tags together one night whilst stamping with my super amazing friend Carli (HUGE WAVES AND HUGS TO YOU LOVELY!!!) We had sooooooooooooooo much fun together this particular night, even Callum joined in (well he slept in Carli's arms whilst she did it all with one hand!!! The things we can do with one hand when we want to is MIND BLOWING!!)
(note the cool faux stitching with the white gel pen!! Such a great technique!)

Anyway it's one of those great projects that you can have a play with, as there are 12 tags to stamp and you can make them all different or group them together!! How about that Ridding hood Red wide ribbon! Yes I get excited about ribbon too!! It's also from the Spring mini that's soon unavailable (you have until the 30th Nov to order!)
If you'd like the step by step instructions yourself, (they're really affordable) then click HERE and you can purchase them!! It's totally worth it! :0)
