Sketch challenge

I've been looking for a new colour challenge but my wonderful ladies who I follow have not put up a new one yet!! I woke up early to go for my walk but due to the rain I went to the office instead and made this card! I've NEVER done a sketch challenge before so I found it very interesting. It's from another very talented ladies blog I visit called "The Sweetest Thing" by Karen.
I just opened and mounted a new set "Dreams du Jour." I have wanted this one ever since the new cat came out and when my beautiful friend Heather ordered one and I had it in my hands (only for a short time to put it into the bag, he he!) I knew that it was time to order one for myself!! So with that set ready to go and the gorgeous Bella Rose paper, LOVE THAT, I was off and racing.
Actually Heather has inspired me a lot with this card, she LOVES embossing! I really like it too but don't really think to do it in my cards very often, especially just the clear to really add and lift a card. So that's what I did, the butterfly and the Dreams stamp have both been embossed in clear, WOW I love the glossy look it gives. Of course I couldn't go past using the new satin Kiwi kiss ribbon and the new buttons, after all they match so well with the Sweet Bella Style Watch!!
In case you were wondering how I made that scallop edge, it's easy! I learnt it at Convention earlier this year in Canberra. I'll be back soon to show you step by step! Keep watching...

Little poppets

It's always fun to design cards for kids, you can add the coolest and brightest colours and they always (well nearly always) work! I must say that these 2 have been inspired by some of the latest colour inspiration I've been involved in (Kristina's #54) and our U.S.A study the kids have been working on. It's been all Real red,Brilliant blue and Whisper white for the decorations and even though I've NEVER been one to really like Brilliant blue (just ask Teresa!!) It's really grown on me!! (who would have ever thought!! he he)
So tonight I have my first Stamp-a-stack for ages at my home and the theme of the night is children's/fun cards! Of course I think you could use these two cards for any age birthday but the joy a "little poppet"gets from seeing one of these would be one to have the camera ready for!!
I couldn't resist when taking the photo to grab Humpty Dumpty, he's been a bit of a star lately in our house hold with dressing up in a lei for our Country day we did with our Home Education group! Of course he was from Hawaii and accompanied Ezekiel with his Hawaiian shirt and lei too!!
Anyway he's been around so I thought only fair to include the spunky fellow in the shot!

I hope that your Monday is as Sunny and delightfully wonderful as mine!!! (not very often I say that for a Monday!) it's one of the most gorgeous day's here today after over a week of rain and gloom!! YAY! YAY! :0)

Raspberry Challenge #10

I love Dawn's blog, she has the coolest ideas and has such a beautiful heart!! She's not going through such a great time either at the moment and I'm sure would also appreciate your prayers!!
In saying that she has come up with another wonderful colour challenge! Man I'm telling you I stared at this pic for ages trying to get inspiration!! All I could think of was using last years in-colour Groovy Guava but with what??? Finally last night it came to me and I decided that it was time to pull out my sowing machine (a machine i bought especially just for cards!!) and add some stitching to whatever it was I was going to make!!
I love the Always set so decided on that with touches of this and that, yes I still wasn't sure of what the this and that was going to be but eventually it came together and this was the end result!
I do really like Cameo coral and when you tap it on the Chocolate chip ink and then fold it in a pleat it looks like a funky ribbon!! My stitching isn't fabulous, Amanda (my super up-line) always, I mean ALWAYS sows on her projects and it looks sooooo awesome, all zig zag here and there. I tried that but I think it looks like I've tried and not just sowed???
So with all of that waffling in the end I am very happy and hope maybe soon I'll make the top picks!!
Hope to post again, sooner rather than later!!

Weather blues...

It's been a week since I posted, oh sorry!!! Bother! The weeks seem to fly and before I know it 6 days have passed! I hope that this last week has been a good one for most of you, I'd have to admit that my week has not been a bed of roses, mostly because of the horrible weather we are having! I know we need the rain and winter is about the cold and sometimes gloomy days but when it's been 5 days of it I find it hard to keep my happy face!! Do you?? However my thoughts and prayers go out to Carli at the moment. My beautiful friend in Nowra who is doing it by herself, while her husband is away! Please pray for her, she has 3 wonderful children who are all sick right now and to not have that special someone to come home at the end of the day to relieve you is hard!!!! Here's a pic of her gorgeous kids with my cuties too!!

Know I love you buddy!!!!
May the weekend for all of you be happy, with sprinkles of sunshine, moments of pure joy and mostly abundant blessings poured out for you, but in return poured out for others!!!
Smiles and Hugs

Enjoying the detail

It's not very often that i really sit down and spend over an Hour on a card. In saying that i love the detail that you can add when you do really take the time to layer and play and embellish!! So that's what i've been doing today, ready to enter yet another challenge, Colour Challenge #55
The colours were certainly more up my alley, I own a mustard top (put up your hands if you do too??!!) and usually when i do these challenges i like to use stamp sets that i haven't used for a while or ones that i struggle to use (though i LOVE them!!) So it makes it more fun to see what i end up with. I knew when i saw the colours that i wanted to use my "bird on a branch" set. Oh it's so devine and i really need to pull it out more often!!
I've seen a few samples in the SU catty that has the torn, window look so i gave that a go too. Hope you like it and can take away a few ideas for your next creation!!
Thanks for popping by,

More green colour challenges!!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!!
I don't know what's going on out there in the world of colour challenges but Green seems to be in!! So I checked out Dawn's Raspberry Suite Challenge again and decided to give it a go! Don't get me wrong I love green, in certain sades, actually I'm even wearing green today (funny, I must have it on my brain!! he he) but there are certain shades that just aren't my cup-a-tea. Thankfully Certainly celery is one of my fav's!! I love the simplicity of these three colours and black is always so striking so I knew that I wanted to do dot's and use some pretty ribbon!

I've ALWAYS LOVED the Big deal Alphabet so I wanted to pull that out and my wonderful Life Definitions too. I think this would be a great combo for a more masculine card too, so i jot it down for future reference!!
Hope you have a super day,
Smiles Sharnee :0)

Memories

It's been a long time... BUT... I've just started scrap-booking again!! Oh it's so much fun and I really do miss it, I just find it hard to find the time!! In saying that I really want to make an album of our latest holiday to WA so I'm making more of an effort now to do some more.
I was stamping and scraping with my beautiful Friend Teresa the other weekend and this is one of the pages I did!! I must admit I did have help from Teresa (as i said it has been awhile) but soon I was coming up with my own ideas and then just didn't want to stop!!!
I'm so happy with this page of my little treasures, and I LOVE how easy it is to co-ordinate pages when you have the matching set to Designer Series paper!! Oh what bliss!! It made it soooo much easier, I was really surprised!! I know that Stampin' Up! have lots more too so I'll be on the lookout and adding to my wish list (again! he he)

Some interesting Colours

I'm not a big fan of the Bold Brights... I'm sure everyone of my customers know that it's basically Earth Elements or nothing!! (not quite but nearly sometimes!!) SO when Kristina posted her
#54 Colour Inspiration it was certainly one that i wondered whether i should bother entering!!! But hey isn't that what these things are all about, stretching you colour pallet and creating something that you otherwise would NEVER do??!!?? NEVER!!
So i gave it a whirl!! I do need to be honest and say that every time i don't get into the top 15 i feel a little dis-heartened BUT i pick myself up and try again!!! It is a goal of mine to be picked one day, however in saying that sometimes she has up to 180 (or more) people enter so i shouldn't feel too bad...do you think??!!?? I can usually pick the winners too, i look at, at least half ( i do have a family to care for..he he) and always leave comments on my fav's mentioning that I'm sure they'll make it to top 15 and YEP they ALWAYS do!!! SO why then if i can pick them not create one myself.... this is the question I've been asking myself whilst sitting to create this...
(am i rambling?? Sorry I'm nearly done)
Well with out further ado here it is

I'm so happy with it!!! YAY! Zeke even came in towards the end and helped me decide where to put the greeting. WOW I'm really happy with it, and who would have thought... GREEN GALOUR of ALL colours. Needless to say it's a great choice of colour and i had a blast making them work in this card!
Here's a closer view as some of the circles are raised, and note that cool tread in the buttons, learnt that at convention this year (think it was Sarah Klass!! Love her things) just use some thin card stock then you always have ribbon to match your creation.

Well whatever happens with this one and the "competition" it's all good, bring on the next I'm in for the Challenge!!!

Hanging out for a colour Challenge!!

It's seemed like ages since Kristina has put out another colour challenge and i have been feeling the bug to do one!! (i hope this means she's having a well earned rest!!) So i went hunting for one to do and found this awesome blog by Dawn : These are a few of my Favourite Things

So i got my goodies out and played with the colours she was setting the challenge for. I must say that though i love Pink, to use HOT PINK on a card was a little out there for me, but i'm sooooo happy with the end result!
I hope that your Long weekend is going wonderfully, mine is :0)
