JAI Scrap #9 Sketch Challenge

Each month since our stamp camp Kim has decided to have a regular night of scrapping! It's been sooo much fun to hang out with her and the lovely Jayne who also comes along, chatting and of course scrapping!
I try and take along the latest JAI challenge for the night, that way I hopefully put up a post and have some guidlines to follow!
I was heaps excited to see a sketch this month and needed to scrap a page of my Mum for my August page in next years calander, so I was off and racing with this great sketch....

I wasn't sure what colours I was going to use, but as the page unfolded, the highlight of my teal eyeshow and the gorgeous green garden behind us made for fun colours to bring in to the colour pallet!

Some elegant embellishments including the new Poppy background stamp, vintage faceted buttons, big shot die "Lattice" and the wonderful pearls,  my page was done! I'm sooo happy with how it turned out and look forward to next August when I can look at it every day!
Make sure you check out the wonderful JAI ladies and their creations, they are sure to inspire!

p.s WOW I just found out that along with the very amazing page done by Louise HERE that I too was chosen as a winner for this challenge!! Thank you sooo much dear Delys and the rest of the team at JAI!

Esther's special card

I had the most wonderful time with my youngest and eldest girls on Saturday. Hannah was needing a card for her friend's birthday party and wanted some help from me. Of course if there's stamping going on then Esther is usually not very far away and soon she was sitting on my lap (a regular occurrence) wanting to make a card too!

With the new Storybook friends set inked up, she chose the Fox and the duck for her card that we sent to our dear friends the Mcleod's. (we had a fabulous day with them on Thursday and Teresa gave Esther some new, well new for her dress ups that were too small for her girls now!)
I have to say right now that Esther is going to be 3 in December, she stamps with me often and Yes i did help with the sky but other than that the card is completely HER! It totally amazes me the way she has coloured (with the aqua pens) these sweet little critters!!!

What a joy to not only share what I love with my fabbo customers but to have special time with my children, in this case my beautiful girls!! To see the delight when they make something they can be proud of is truly wonderful!

Sharing a special time....

My wonderful sister and I both have the pregnancy "glow" at the moment and we wanted to make the most of this amazing time and capture it on film now we are both so close! Her hubbie got behind the camera and took these great snaps of us!

Which one is your fav?? I really like the close up belly one and the laughter one too!!
What an amazing time to be sharing in!!

p.s If you'd like to check out Sarah's web site (Click HERE) She is an extremely talented, professional photographer and her work is simply breathtaking!!

Baby Shower Invites

At the end of last month I co-hosted a baby shower for my sister's first baby due in mid October. I wanted to make an invite that was classy and not screaming the typical "baby" colours. My sister loves things more plain too so I had some "rules" I was following.
I find making large numbers of cards (or invites) quite easy, once of course you've got your template. Then it's just a matter of getting each element ready and putting it all together.

I used the now retired invitation set, the rattle from Button Buddies and the Baby tag greeting from the Tiny tag set ( a must in any collection!!) The colours I ended up with were early espresso, crumb cake and very vanilla.
Here is the end result which Sarah absolutely LOVED! It's sooo nice to be pregnant with her, sharing the joy of "growing" together!!
I've been having a wonderful holiday time (being school holidays) and hope to pop in again soon to share some of what I've been making! Until then I hope that you're having plenty of craft time....

Comfort Cafe Scrapbook page

A little while ago now (before I was quite sick for 2 weeks... bummer!!) I saw that there was a great sketch challenge by Creative Scrappers #222. I had until the end of August to get my page up but sadly with life going on I missed it!! Oh well!!

SO I'm here now to show you what I did. It has been super fun playing with loads of new things from the newly released Stampin' Up! Annual Catty! YAY! YAY! YAY!
This page is based on a new product suite called "comfort Cafe" and the colours that work with that are....
*Summer Starfruit (a new in-colour)
* Midnight Muse (another new in-colour)
*Cajun Craze
* Soft Suede
* Pool Party
* Very Vanilla

I LOVE this combo of colours and had heaps of fun using some new goodies!! These pictures were taken earlier in the year on one of our camping trips. When there is an open fire then there's gotta be Marshmallows... YUMMY!!! I love the faces on our treasured ones in these shots, such gooey goodness and gorgeous smiles of satisfaction!!!

Here are a few close ups of the Faux ribbon look,the cute little cup that's from the new Holiday Mini and that groovy button too, embellished with the must have Bakers twine!

Hope you've been having some time to play in the holidays and I'll see you soon
Smiles Sharnee :)
