SUO challenges #95 featuring flowers

There are loads of wonderful challenges around at the moment, especially involving flowers!! SO here I have made a card for my dear friends birthday with exactly that!
I used the off cut piece of the Apothecary die as the main piece on my card, stamped a few splashes of silver gorgeous grunge and added some ribbon and silver paper to make the rose look like a winner's pin! Add a large pearl to the center (my rose is made using the new spiral die and some co-ordinations card stock then sanded!) and lastly paper piercing in the shape cut out!! YAY I LOVE co-ordination!!

Quite an easy card really but I'm super happy with how it looks!! Go and check out the amazing creations at SUO challenges and be inspired!! Just in time for Mother's Day!!

Vintage Card in a box and tags too!!

Like I said, I'm pretty hocked on these card in a boxes right now!! I've been making LOTS, playing with different designs and making lots of samples ready for my stamp club!! The ladies on Thursday night were totally WOWED by the card I showed, can't wait to show my Monday girls soon too!!
This card was for my amazing friend who lives in Melbourne, she really is such a special part of my life and for that needed a special birthday card!

I wanted to make a frame using the window sheet to highlight the "enjoying" word on the back!! I used a very old set (frames with a flourish) stamped in stazon (love that little pad!!) and then cut out!!

I added lots of vintage style elements like the gold splatters, smudgy ink, doilies and roses with pearls! I'm sooo happy with how it turned out and sent it off with some handmade gift tags!!!
The images I used are from the hostess set Postage collection, all you need is some pegs, crystal effects and some packaging!!!

Needless to say the present (and card) was loved and I was thrilled to send sooo much love in one little package!!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #21 - 3D flowers for Mother's Day

Hello wonderful people!!! How was your Easter?? Mine was totally fabulous, one of the best for a long time! YAY!!!!
But can you believe that we are now turning our thoughts to the next event (of course there is Anzac Day in there too) which is Mother's Day!!! WOW then we will be in MAY! The year is going quickly!!
Kim and I from Perfectly Rustics have thought about what we love about Mother's Day and one thing that came to mind was Flowers! So for this challenge we want you to come up with a super flower project, card, scrap-page!! But not any old flower, it must be 3D!!!!!
Here is my inspiration for you.....

I found this great box idea HERE and also loved the look of a gorgeous flower bag HERE so decided to combine them both with my "Sharnee" touch of course!!
these are the side veiws

Have you used the Spiral flower die?? Oh you MUST!!! It makes the most divine flowers and every time they are slightly different- just like the real thing!! My roses are made with some co-ordinations Primrose cardstock and a blushing bride one too.
I hope you give this challenge ago, we sure can't wait to see all the wonderful things you come up with!!

Just Add Ink #210 & SUO #94 - An Easter card in a box

With a new fun technique to play with I wanted to make an Easter card in a box and at the moment Just Add Ink's latest challenge is add an Easter box or basket and SUO is all about Easter too!!!
(hopefully the card in a box is allowed over at JAI?!?!.....)
I'm loving the colour combo of the Fresh prints DSP in the current mini so with Real red, Pool party and whisper white I came up with this Easter box card.

I've been playing with making some kind of frame for a main embellishment or stamped image, this one I've created using the oval embossing folder, cut out the middle and tore around the edge. The Easter egg is made from one of the elegant stamps in the Lovely Romance stamp set which I clear embossed. (though if you look closely you can see some speckles of white which must of got mixed into my clear!!!) I then used the PERFECT EGG DIE from the Backyard basics Framelits set!! YAY!!

I wanted to create a different background than that of the DSP so chose the sweet doily, cutting down on the two sides to slip it down the box a little more!
I know I'll be making LOADS more of these types of card/boxes, they are soooo much fun!! Do check out what the fabbo ladies at JAI  and SUO have made, they always have the most amazing, inspiring things to get those creative juices flowing!!!!

Card in a box technique - Hello Lovely

I have jumped on the train and joined in the wonderful Card in a Box craze!!! MY OH MY it really is an amazing outcome and I've had some serious fun making many different samples!! I first saw the idea HERE at dear Diane's blog!! Then I went looking for some more ideas and found this HERE. I used the DSP stack in the mini called Fresh prints and the flower stamp (with matching punch) is Petite petals. The rose is made very much like the new die Stampin' Up now have which I originally saw HERE a very long time ago!!

Then on the backside, I stamped some more and added some of the scrap strip of DSP (the other side) to it also! This card was made for a very lovely lady on my team who has had a rough patch lately, so I hope that it brought a smile to her face and made her feel loved and thought of! Be sure to check back again (soonish) for some more card in a box ideas!! I LOVE this technique!!!

Mermaid Punch art card

My beautiful Sophia recently went to an Underwater theme party for one of her closest friends! When I asked her what kind of card would she make, I suggested to make something underwater like..... maybe a Mermaid?? Well that was that, she was on the computer "googling" mermaid punch art and this is what she made (idea from HERE)!!

She didn't think that the usual bikini looking top was at all appropriate so made their suits full piece!! LOVE that! The mermaid in summer starfruit is Sophia (with the long hair) and the Tempting Turquoise mermaid is her dear friend, she also has the special flower in her hair!! I love the rhinestone ear-rings and the love hearts with the added "light" touches!! I think that punch art is totally awesome for children, they really can make some amazing things!! I'm Soooo proud of my super Soph, just had to share with you all!!

Vintage inspired Cupcake toppers

My beautiful friend asked me recently to make something for her to sell at the children's school fair! I wasn't sure what exactly but in the end decided to make some cupcake toppers!! They are fun, different and should be a good seller!!

Of course if you know me you know I LOVE Vintage so that's where my toppers began..... add some of my favourite ribbon and you have some sweet little toppers ready for that perfect cupcake!!!
I was happy to hear that they all sold and have since then made some more in various themes as gifts!! Such a lovely little something indeed!!

Perfectly Rustics challenge #20 - Golden Easter

It wont be long before Easter is upon us so to get you thinking and creating we have come up with a challenge all about Easter with touches of GOLD!! That's right make a Easter themed project and make sure you include GOLD to join us at Perfectly Rustics this time!! I made a scrap page of our amazing treasures ready and waiting for Easter to come!

I have made some 3D eggs and added my touches of GOLD with flowers!
The eggs are really easy by just punching out 4 ovals and keeping one flat, fold the other 3 in half and then stick them all together!! A 3D egg, just like that!!

The DSP I used is retired as is the alphabet set but the colours are Pink pirouette and Soft sky! I hope we inspire you to join in with us, can't wait to see what you come up with!!
